Bella Hadid admits to having nose surgery and using face lift tape, but denies other cosmetic procedures
In a recent Vogue interview, Bella Hadid discussed her modeling career, from highs to lows. A major project she revealed was a nose job she had at the age of 14. Many were surprised to learn that the supermodel regretted having plastic surgery.
“I wish I could keep my ancestor’s nose,” Hadid told Vogue. “I think I’ll grow into it.” However, Hadid claims it was the only cosmetic surgery she’s ever had – something many observers have a hard time believing.
“People thought I was totally screwed with my face because of a photo of me looking puffy as a teenager,” she explained. “I’m pretty sure you don’t look the way you did when you were 13 now, right? I’ve never used filler. Let’s end it. I have no problem with that, but it’s not for me.”
She continued, “Who thinks my eyes are raised, or whatever it’s called – it’s facial tape! The oldest trick in the book. I have this imposter syndrome and people make me think I shouldn’t Get any of that. People always have something to say, but I’ll say I’ve been misunderstood in my industry and around people.”
What is face lift tape and how is it used?
So, for the layman, what Yes Face lift tape? It’s pretty much what it sounds like: on the face. The tape is applied near the hairline to give the wearer the appearance of a facelift, defining areas such as cheekbones, neck, chin and eyes. Although the cosmetic tape trend is on the rise, makeup artists say it’s nothing new.
Dani Kimiko Vincent, celebrity makeup artist and founder of beauty brand Kimiko, told InStyle: “[Face lift tape has] It’s been around for decades. They work by using an adhesive that sticks to the sides of the face to lift and tighten the skin. This is similar to the concept of pulling your face back and up with a high, tight ponytail. “
Many people think of face lift tape as a quick and easy trick to make your face look firmer, but some dermatologists warn against using the product.
“Applying to the face with different adhesives can cause damage to the skin. On the one hand, these facial tapes are designed to pull and lift the skin—it takes a lot of superglue to stick, hold, and pull,” Celebrity Beautician and Skin Branch nurse Natalie Aguilar told InStyle. “With prolonged use, the skin of the veneer tape can become darker, drier, peeling, and often itchy. Continued use of face lift tapes can also cause allergies, as many of these tapes contain irritating adhesives agent.”
Why many people don’t believe Bella Hadid didn’t have fillers and other cosmetic procedures
Despite Bella Hadid’s claims in Vogue Interviewed that she’s never had fillers, some observers still think the supermodel isn’t completely transparent about her cosmetic procedures. They pointed to the 25-year-old’s well-defined cheeks, upper lip and chin.
While no one was willing to reveal their surgery, some observers were unhappy with Hadid’s seemingly blunt denial that she had had any surgery other than a nose job.
While Hadid confirmed she had a rhinoplasty, she did not confirm other potential cosmetic procedures. Whether or not models get more work done, using face lift tape is just another trick celebrities — and ordinary people — can use to transform their appearance.
