The Masked Singer NZ celebrity list starts to read like a Who’s Who in New Zealand entertainment.
Last week, Warner Bros. Discovery Channel revealed that host Clint Randall would be joining Shalyn Casey, James Rock and Anika Moah. They’re the guessing team that will decipher clues and find out who’s behind the mask in grotesque costumes when the series premieres on July 24, 2022.
Now, the producers have revealed additional celebrity guest panelists who will also make appearances on different nights, namely Jono Pryer, Paul Ego, Tami Neilson, Tofiga Fepulea’i and Kings.
The great Tami Neilson is a Canadian born, New Zealand resident country and soul singer who has received numerous accolades. She has long been recognized by the greats of the music industry, making the top 10 global charts and being the subject of music documentaries.

The producers describe Nelson as “a woman at the top of the game who is ready to bring her contagion to the guesswork panel”.
Known as the king of comedy, New Zealand-born Samoan Tofiga Fepulea’i has graced screens and stages throughout Aotearoa and beyond with his unique brand of Pacific Island humor for over 20 years.
He has worked in television and film and has acted in numerous sold-out comedy shows. He can be proud to be the best-selling comic at the New Zealand International Comedy Festival – so producers say he’s going to give the New Zealand masked singer a lot of laughs.
Jono Pryer is an award-winning radio host and TV presenter who started his career on the TV show The Jono Project and later teamed up with Ben Boyce on the comedy skit Jono and Ben. Jono’s career in radio includes 15 years at The Rock, The Edge with fellow panelist Sharyn Casey and now on The Hits breakfast show with his longtime partner Boyce.
“The show is incredible,” he said. “The singing talent is outstanding, the judges are very knowledgeable, the only question hanging over my head is why they think of me!”
Comedian Paul Ego started his career in the 90s and has since become a household name. His work in broadcasting kicked off his career and has won four New Zealand Broadcasting Awards. While he may be best known for his comedy career, Paul’s time in the band in the ’80s may help him as he looks to find out who’s under the mask.
The last guesser is hip-hop celebrity Kings, who broke into the music world in 2016 with the release of his debut single, Don’t Worry Bout It. After the single went triple platinum and broke the New Zealand chart record, the Kings have dropped three albums, won numerous awards and cemented their status as Aotearoa music royalty.
King appeared on the show in person last year as a masked singer – wow audiences when he took fifth place as “Monster” – and thinks his insider knowledge will help him in this transition Guess correctly when character.
