Entertainment News: Love and Family

This is Jill Duggar Dillard’s baby number three. She and her husband Derek Dillard welcomed their second son, Frederick Michael Dillard, this week. The Counting On star said the name was a tribute to some very special people in their lives.

Also making a family of five is Pippa Middleton and James Matthews. Kate Middleton’s sister announced the baby’s arrival on July 11, but the baby is a few weeks old. No names have been announced at the time of this publication.

Khloe Kardashian is expecting baby number two with ex Tristan Thompson via People Magazine’s agency coverage. Instead of reuniting as husband and wife, the two share raising children together for True’s new would-be siblings.

DWTS Pros Jenna Johnson and Val Chmerkovskiy have announced that they are expecting their first child in January 2023. Johnson told PEOPLE how she let Val know in a special way. The couple tied the knot in 2019.

Yeardley Smith, the voice of Lisa Simpson on The Simpsons, announced on June 11 that she had tied the knot with former police detective Dan Grice. The newlyweds reunited in 2014 when he was assigned to her security department for her appearance in Springfield, Oregon. As they say, the rest is history.

RHOSLC actor Jen Shah faces serious jail time after pleading guilty to wire fraud. The reality star has reached a plea deal after running a telemarketing scam targeting seniors. She will not be tried and sentenced directly. She could be behind bars for up to 30 years. Rumor has it that she is still recording the show and awaiting her next court date.

Q’Orianka Kilcher, best known for her roles as Kerranne Telford in “Sons of Chaos” and Angela Blue Thunder in Yellowstone, is facing fraud charges. She allegedly received workers’ compensation illegally after being injured in “Dora” and “The Lost City of Gold.” The actress has denied the allegations and plans to fight the California Department of Insurance.

Entertainment News: Diseases and Injuries

Constance Wu has revealed she attempted suicide after a social media backlash over a tweet about just getting off the boat. One actress even called Wu a “scourge” of the Asian American community. Fortunately, a friend found her and took her to the emergency room. After a three-year hiatus, the young actress made a confession on social media.

Tom Arnold recently showed off his staggering 75 pounds of weight loss. The 63-year-old single father, who has suffered a stroke and organ failure in recent years, has decided to take his health seriously. Casting and Changes

Fans of Criminal Minds can shout hallelujah! Executive producer and showrunner Erica Messer signed a deal with ABC Signature to greenlight Paramount+ to begin production on a 10-episode production order. Deadline reports returning cast members Joe Mantegna, Kirsten Vancenes, Adam Rodriguez, AJ Cook, Aisha Taylor and Paget Brewster will return on August 21 Start recording today.

SNL’s Kenan Thompson’s Artists for Artists production company has signed a deal to create a live-action series, My Therapist Says, according to the Instagram account. The account touts memes focused on mental health and general chaos in life, and has 7.5 million followers.

Jeff Goldblum signs on to Netflix’s Kaos, a dark comedy reimagining Greek mythology, as Zeus, the goddess of nemesis. The iconic actor replaced Hugh Grant, who had to step down due to his absence.

In other Netflix news, Diane Lane has signed on to play Jeff Daniels’ spouse in the series based on Tom Wolfe’s novel “A Man.” David E. Kelley will serve as writer, executive producer and host, while Regina King will serve as director.

Black Panther 2 production suffered yet another setback as Daniel Kaluuya had to step down from the role of Black Panther’s best friend and husband W’kabi due to a schedule conflict with promoting Jordan Peele’s Nope in favor of Danai Tribute to Okoye of Gurira. The hit series has been plagued by delays due to injuries to Chadwick Boseman, COVID-19 and Letitia Wright. The Hollywood Reporter says it still has a November 11, 2022 release date.

According to Variety, Alfonso Ribeiro will join Tyra Banks to co-host Disney+ season 31 of Dancing With the Stars. This will be the second time he has filled the void left by Tom Bergeron. He previously hosted Bergeron on America’s Funniest Home Videos.

“Law & Order” actor Christopher Meloni appears in a new Peloton ad celebrating National Nudity Day. The minute-long ad shows the remarkably fit 61-year-old doing various workouts with his most intimate parts obscured to viewers.

Entertainment News: Tribute

Busisiwe Lurayi passed away on July 10. The actress’ Tumi Sello in Netflix’s “How to Ruin Christmas” unexpectedly stole her heart when she died at her home. The cause of her death is unknown. Bucicive is 36 years old.

On July 11, Monty Norman died. The legendary composer Ross, best known for his James Bond theme songs, is beloved across the film industry after more than 50 years of composing music for the big and small screens. He is 94 years old.

Oprah Winfrey’s father, Vernon Winfrey, died quietly in his sleep at the age of 89, accompanied by his family in Nashville, Tennessee. The media mogul once said in a Washington Post interview that he kept her out of a life of crime and helped her channel her to a better side.

Music promotion pioneer Don Graham died of stomach cancer at his Los Angeles home. Graham is known for the work done by Edd “Kookie” Byrnes, Connie Stevens, The Everly Brothers, Ike & Tina Turner and Peter, Paul and Mary. He is 87 years old.

Ivana Trump, the ex-wife of former President Donald J. Trump, died at her Manhattan home on July 14 at the age of 73. The couple provided material for the tabloids of the ’80s. After her marriage ended in 1990, the Czech-American businesswoman and mother of Don, Eric and Ivanka went on to become a successful author and international real estate agent.

Mark Fleischman, the former owner of the notorious nightclub Studio 54, has committed suicide in Zurich at the age of 82. The nightclub manager has been battling an unidentified degenerative disease that has left him paralyzed. His wife Mimi was by his side.

Former Beverly Hills 90210 producer and writer Jessica Klein passed away on July 13 from pancreatic cancer. She is also known for her work on soap operas such as Capitol, A World Turning, Once Upon a Time, and Primetime Emmy Award-winning Band of Brothers and Oscar-nominated The Green Mile. Klein is 66 years old.

William “Poogie” Hart, frontman of Philadelphia soul band The Delfonics, died of complications from a recent operation in a Philadelphia hospital. Hart is touted as one of the purest falsettos around, and he wrote classic hits like La-La Means I Love You and Did I Blow Your Mind This Time. He is 77 years old.

Former Carolina Panthers first-round pick and Jackson State football star Rashad Anderson has died at the age of 45. The cause of death has not yet been determined.
