Rajkummar Rao is a prime example who reached the top through his own efforts without coming from a film family. Although he enjoys great popularity, Rajkummar has opened up nepotism in Bollywood thanks to the opportunities offered by OTT and how his classmates are now making it shine.

Rajkummar Rao admits that nepotism will always exist in Bollywood, but says one’s work and talent must speak for itself. The actor revealed that several of his classmates are now getting recognition for the streaming platform. Rajkummar cites the example of Jaideep Ahlawat, who won a lot of praise for his performance in “Pataal Lok”, and named Pratik Gandhi, who was a hit with “Scam 1992”. Rajkummar Rao marked his acting debut with “Love Sex Aur Dhokha” (2010) and went on to release hits such as “Kai Po Che”, “Shahid” and “Stree”. He also won the prestigious National Film Award for “Shaheed.”

On the job front, Rajkummar Rao will soon appear in “HIT – The First Case”. This suspense-thriller remake of the 2020 Telugu hit of the same name. Rajkummar describes the role of the police in this entertainer. Speaking of the film, he told PTI, “No one gave me any action before ‘HIT’. I absolutely loved it. The action was real, organic and original. It’s a film I’m proud of , it presents me in a different image. It’s a good investigative thriller.” HIT opens on July 15.
