As they begin their trip to the UK, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle attend an event in Manchester.
After their most recent trip to the country in June to celebrate Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are now back in the country. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made their first joint business trip to the UK on Monday, attending the One Young World Summit in Manchester. They will be stepping down from their top royal duties in March 2020.
At the event where Meghan was scheduled to give the keynote talk for the opening ceremony, Harry and Meghan were greeted with thunderous applause as they entered the stage. The event took place at Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall. The couple will allegedly have a busy itinerary because they will be traveling to Germany after their vacation to the UK.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will go to Germany for the One Year to Go countdown event for the Invictus Games. After that, Meghan and Prince Harry will return to the UK for Thursday’s Well Child Awards. It’s unclear whether the couple will interact with the royal family while they are in the UK on business, especially in light of Markle’s recent remarks in her interview with The Cut.
The pair met Queen Elizabeth and her grandpa Prince Charles for the first time when they traveled to the country in June to take part in Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. While visiting the UK, Meghan and Harry also had a little party at the Frogmore Cottage where they were staying to honor their daughter’s first birthday.
