Noah Centineo and Quintessa Swindell on suiting up for the first time as the JSA

When Justice Society of America first suited up for Black Adam, Noah Centineo and Quintessa Swindell were feeling the pressure.

It’s a countdown for the upcoming DCEU installment of Black Adam! There are not only Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock and director Jaume Collet-Serra who will make their grand debuts in the new movie, but fans will also meet the Justice Society of America for the first time. There are four members of Black Adam’s Justice Society of America: Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, and Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone.

I interviewed Noah Centineo and Quintessa Swindell about how they felt like little kids again when wearing their costumes. I proceeded to ask the sensational, masked pair what it was like for them to see the entire JSA suit up for the first time on the set of Black Adam next to Dwayne Johnson. The response I got was overwhelming at first but, soon after, it felt just like going to work.

He felt OVERWHELMED at the sight of the JSA getting ready to put on the black suit for him.
At the Black Adam set on which he met Justice Society of America for the first time, Noah Centineo stated Pretty mind blowing, huh? [Quintessa agreed] It felt like everything had fallen into place. For me, it was a little overwhelming. The star of To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before revealed, At first it was shocking and I felt very excited. I don’t know, I guess like…[fist pumps air with excitement] I don’t know, I just had all these emotions happening.

The Black Adam Cast “embraced their characters” as Quintessa Swindell found it “REFRESHING”.
After seeing JSA dressed for the first time on the Black Adam sets, Quintessa Swindell shared a similar reaction with her co-star Noah Centineo: “Frankly, I feel exactly the same! It was just very overwhelming and then I realized, “Oh, yeah!” I have to do something again. We have to do this job.’ [both chuckle]” However, the Trinkets star also praised their Black Adam co-stars: “But it was also very nice because everyone was so their character. They had fully realised and fully embraced their character by the time we even started or got to that point. That it was just also really refreshing seeing every person so different yet all of us, I don’t know… [Noah chimed in, “Fitting into the piece.”] Yeah, fitting in. So, it was crazy.”

Black Adam looks amazing, and we can’t wait to see what Noah Centineo and Quintessa Swindell have in store!

What you need to know about Black Adam
The much anticipated movie Black Adam, which has been a long time coming, tells the story of antihero Teth-Adam aka Black Adam, who ultimately becomes the supervillain rival to both Shazam and Superman. His fight will be against Justice Society of America, who will try to put an end to his rampage, teach him the difference between a hero and villain, and eventually team up with him against an enemy more powerful than Black Adam.

Among the many other actors in Black Adam are Sarah Shahi as Isis/Adrianna Tomaz, Marwan Kenzari as Sabbac/Ishmael Gregor, and Djimon Hounsou, who reprises the role of Shazam! viola Davis also reprises her role as Amanda Walker, while Jennifer Holland reprises her role as Emilia Harcourt from the DCEU. October 21 will mark the release of Black Adam.

Recently on Twitter, reviews of the upcoming Black Adam film have surfaced. There was already a world premiere for the movie earlier in the month in Mexico. The 11th DC Extended Universe movie has mostly been received positively, especially when it comes to the ensemble performance: a few actors who have been cast in Black Adam so far include Dwayne Johnson, Pierce Brosnan, and Aldis Hodge, along with Noah Centineo and Quintessa Swindell, whose Atom Smasher and Cyclone have been barely teased in the trailers. The future of the Black Adam and JSA actors in the DC Comics Extended Universe (DCEU) is less clear; all we know is there will surely be a lot of opportunities to watch Dwayne The Rock Johnson in action in the DCEU.
