Times of India

Marvel’s Deadpool 3 and other major releases from phases 5 and 6 have now been postponed. Below is the MCU’s release calendar.
Several changes have been made to the Marvel calendar and fans may have to wait longer to see some movies they’ve been eager to see. After the studio announced phase 5 and 6 releases at Comic-Con 2022 such as Avengers: Age of Ultron, moviegoers may need to wait longer to watch those films. There has now been a delay for Secret Wars and Fantastic Four.

In the midst of fans’ excitement over Hugh Jackman’s return in Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool 3, the studio has now confirmed a new release date for the much-anticipated film. Even though the much-anticipated film arrives in 2023, it has been delayed by a few months. For the studio’s other big films, casting has yet to be confirmed, with names such as Emily Blunt and Rege-Jean Page reportedly being considered for the roles of Sue Storm and Reed Richards in Fantastic Four. Interested in Marvel’s latest release schedule? Here’s everything we know so far.

The new release date for Deadpool 3
Following the exciting teaser video announcing Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine in Deadpool 3, the release date for the film has been moved from September 6, 2024 to November 8, 2024. In Deadpool 3, Shawn Levy takes on the director’s role after collaborating with Ryan Reynolds on Free Guy and The Adam Project, both of which were massive successes. With Jackman’s inclusion, fans have become even more excited about the film. Jackman was last seen as the Wolverine in Logan in 2017, though his character died in the movie. It will be interesting to see how Jackman’s character fits into the Deadpool universe.

Avengers: Secret Wars
Marvel took everyone by surprise by announcing the new Avengers movie at this year’s Comic-Con event. Avengers: Infinity War Previously expected to release on November 7, 2025, the latest version of Marvel Comics’ Secret Wars has now been delayed to May 1, 2026. From this we can surmise that, with Marvel’s new releases of the second and third Avengers film, they will also be releasing Avengers: The Kang Dynasty in May of 2025 on its original release date. The studio behind Secret Wars has yet to find a director. Mark Ruffalo recently discussed his role in Avengers Some have questioned if it’ll surpass Avengers: Endgame at the premiere of She-Hulk and are confident it will certainly be an enormous success.

Mahershala Ali’s Blade
As a result of the release date delay, Mahershala Ali’s Blade has also been rescheduled for September 6, 2024, from November 3, 2023, which was originally scheduled. In nearly two weeks since Bassam Tariq left the much-anticipated film, it has emerged there is a search for a new director. With the temporary shutdown of Atlanta-based production activities for the vampire adventure thriller, The Hollywood Reporter reports that the project has been put on hold. After a new director joins the studio, production is expected to restart in early 2023.

The script for Blade has already been rewritten several times and is currently being written by Beau DeMayo, who has previously written for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and Marvel’s own Moon Knight. Recent reports have hinted that with Oscar Isaac (news outlet link) teasing Moon Knight’s return, the character may be joining Blade’s MCU next season in case a second season is not announced.

Fantastic Four
Considered by Marvel’s team to be a major highlight of the company’s upcoming phase 6, it was announced recently that a major project was Marvel’s live-action version of Fantastic Four which was helmed by director Matt Shakman. Originally, Fantastic Four was set to be released on November 8, 2024, but according to a new announcement from the studio, it has now been pushed back several months to February 14, 2025. The movie has yet to cast the four leads. In a recent interview with UPROXX, Marvel’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star, Rachel Brosnahan addressed MCU casting rumors and revealed she has not been offered the role of Sue Storm in Fantastic Four after rumors suggested she was up for the part and many fans agreed that she would be perfect for the part.

Moreover, John Krasinksi, who recently appeared as Mr Fantastic aka Reed Richards in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, was asked if he would return to the same role in the upcoming Fantastic Four, but remained coy.
