As per the New York Times, MacKenzie Scott recently filed for divorce after a mere two years of marriage to husband Dan Jewett.
According to the New York Times, Mackenzie Scott has filed for divorce from her husband Dan Jewett, ending the marriage that only lasted two years. As stated in the article, Jewett did not contest the divorce, and the details of the property agreement have already been discussed in a prenuptial agreement.
After MacKenzie’s name disappeared from Scott’s philanthropic pledges in 2021, rumours spread of the pair’s split. Her Amazon bio also appears to have been wiped clean of details of her second husband. Scott split from her first husband, Jeff Bezos, in September 2017 after 27 years of marriage.
MacKenzie Bezos, who is the former wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, is also the mother to three boys and one daughter, the daughter being adopted from China. After 25 years of marriage, the Bezos’s divorced when MacKenzie found out that her husband had been having an affair with a TV journalist. After a long period of loving exploration and trial separation, MacKenzie and Jeff announced that they were divorcing and continuing their friendship after their split.
Her second marriage was announced on Jewett’s Giving Pledge webpage as part of MacKenzie’s second marriage. Dan quoted the site the Giving Pledge on saying, I am married to one of the most generous and kind people I know — and joining her in a commitment to pass on an enormous financial wealth to serve others.
