At her home in Balmoral, the Queen passed away on Thursday at the age of 96.

On September 8, 2022, the Queen passed away at her Balmoral home as members of the royal family gathered by her bedside. Though she had to postpone her virtual meeting with the Privy Council on Wednesday after being told to relax by her doctors. The Queen was kept under medical observation the next day at Balmoral, where she passed away in the late afternoon on September 8. According to Page Six, a clergyman who attended the monarch’s last weekend said she was “full of fun” and even animated while performing her responsibilities. Greenshields stated, “She was in incredibly terrific form during the weekend, so it came as a tremendous shock to me when I learned she was seriously unwell. The minister dined with Princess Anne, Prince Charles, and the Queen on Saturday. In a conversation with The Times of London, he stated, “She was everything’s life and soul. She was talking very personally to me about her time there when she was a little girl, recalling people and places from 40 years ago, as well as her old horses. She was quite extraordinary.” He added that despite being 96 years old, the Queen was in good spirits and even had a strong recall.
