PIL filed by Laal Singh Chaddha seeking outright prohibition of Aamir Khan film in West Bengal for disturbing peace.

Laal Singh Chaddha, starring Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, was one of the most anticipated movies of 2022. Since the day the first look was published, the movie has generated a lot of buzz. Unfortunately, the movie, in which Mona Singh and Naga Chaitanya also had important roles, did poorly at the box office after succumbing to the social media boycott trend. Twitter was trending with the hashtag #BoycottLaalSinghChaddha as netizens asked that this movie be boycotted. Almost two weeks after the movie’s debut, a PIL challenging it has been submitted to the Kolkata High Court.

The Kolkata High Court has received a PIL (Public Interest Litigation) against Lal Singh Chaddha, according to reports in India Today. In Bengal, it is demanded that the movie be completely banned due to a peace problem. Additionally, it is reported that the case will be heard on August 23 in Chief Justice Prakash Srivastava’s court. This Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan film is demanded to be completely banned in Bengal by the PIL. If the ban is not implemented, it has also been demanded that police officers be stationed outside each theatre because what is depicted in the movie has the potential to undermine Bengal’s peace and order. The PIL was submitted by attorney Nazia Elahi Khan. She feels that the movie does not adequately portray the Army.

The producers of Laal Singh Chaddha deny claims that the movie lost money.

There have been circulating articles claiming that the film’s underperformance has caused the distributors of Laal Singh Chaddha to incur significant losses. The film’s producers and distributors provided clarification on the subject, denying rumours that some distributors wanted payment for the film’s poor performance. The creators verified this in an exclusive interview with ETimes, saying the situation is entirely different.
