The entertainment industry rejected Karan Tacker back in his early days.

Karan Tacker has acted in the industry for more than ten years and he is a renowned actor. He began his acting career with Love Ne Mila Di Jodi and has since acted in a few popular shows, including Rang Badalti Odhani, Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, and others. Despite being a fitness buff and one of the fittest actors in the industry, he recently admitted to facing rejections due to his toned physique.

Karan appeared in the Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi in a supporting role. He went on to appear in the web shows Special Ops and Special Ops 1.5. What is The Himmat Story? In addition to OTT shows, he has also appeared in TV shows like Naagin 3, Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, and Rang Badalti Odhani. He is also the voice behind Spotify’s podcast Droh.

Talking about rejections in his career, Karan told News18, “I have never been told to ‘correct’ something but what has always been a barrier for me is ‘you look too good for the part’. That has been a real challenge that I have been facing for a very long time. I have been told, “You are a good-looking guy, so that’s your problem”, or “You are so fit, don’t be so fit.”

Karan further added “I find them quite hypocritical because I have realised that when you see people who come from film families, their entry into films is with their physicality. ‘Iske body acchi hai, iski shakal acchi hai, baal acche hai (He/She has a good body, face or hair’. Thus, I find it rather hypocritical that to launch a starkid, you want the whole package, but then to find an actor, the package is the issue, and then you are okay accepting them.

As Karan explained, while all actors have great bodies, they often have the misfortune of only landing minor roles in these types of small-town settings. It also makes a difference when it comes to color; if an actor has a good body and also looks a little dark in skin tone, they may be less likely to play more stereotypical roles.
