Friday, after Seemingly endless waiting, Thor: Love and Thunder show.In fact, fans will also be addicted to the penultimate episode lady marvel, wraps up its six-episode season on Disney+ next week. This isn’t the first time Marvel has doubled down on content. last year, Spider-Man: Nowhere to Go fell in the middle Hawkeyestreaming runs, and black widow open like Rocky is wrapping up its first season. Just a few years ago, fans had to wait months between the release of new installments of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Now, it’s often necessary to watch multiple things at the same time — and it’s only going to get worse.

Or, rather, better. To be clear, this is not a tirade against oversaturation. We have already done so. Rather, it’s about the quest to balance Marvel’s media diet. While the superhero market is a bubble about to burst, there’s been an uproar over the content. Today, three big-screen movies and four or five Disney+ projects a year don’t seem to be enough to keep up with the Marvel brand. Now, for a decade, Marvel has successfully recreated the comic book experience in mainstream media.

That’s not to say Marvel invented the great comic book movie — it’s been around ever since Superman: The Movie Introduced in the 1970s, Tim Burton Batman in 1989. And the studio didn’t invent serialized stories across multiple platforms. Star Trek did just that in the early ’90s when it had two shows and the occasional movie. Rather, it’s because Marvel releases so much content that fans are forced to choose a character, a faction or a storyline and stick with it.

To see how this might play out, think back to Marvel in the 80s and 90s. The company’s popularity has exploded thanks to the efforts of creators like Chris Claremont, Frank Miller, Walter Simonson, and more, with new series and new heroes being added to the Marvel roster. Some feature spinoffs from existing characters—the Punisher played the villain in Spider-Man comics for over a decade before becoming his own publishing success—while others are cut entirely from new fabric, hopefully Can find an unexpected next big thing, even if they quickly get back into creative trouble. (Alas, poor farce, poor NFL SuperPro, poor US1…)

During this time, however, Marvel’s output began to exceed what anyone could reasonably read. With the company’s product line growing past 30, 40, 50 issues a month, only superfans — self-proclaimed “Marvel Zombies” — can handle it. Regular fans start picking what they’ll follow. “Marvel fans” became “X-Men fans” or “Spider-Man fans.”

Companies know this and have even invested in it for a while. In the mid-’90s, it replaced its editor-in-chief with five team editors, each overseeing an element of the series divided into popular brands or comic “families”. However, this attitude didn’t last long – eventually the editors of the X-Men were promoted above the others.

We haven’t gotten to the point where Marvel has produced as many shows and movies as comics in the past, but fans arguably hit a similar tipping point in terms of the amount of attention it takes to keep up with everything.Despite a (perhaps now abandoned) motto claiming that “it’s all connected”, the more Marvel Studios makes, the audience chooses the stories and characters they want to follow and leaves the rest behind The greater the importance of the latter…unless they want to if only Watch Marvel Studios productions from now on.

It’s a change of attitude that will likely have the same effect on Marvel Studios as it did on Marvel Comics, alienating creators from a monolithic company-wide tone and the desire to appeal to the widest possible audience all the time. It’s just like lady marvel Shows how good Marvel can be when it comes to materialization – who wouldn’t want to see more? So vote with your money and streaming time, Marvel fans: you’re only making the MCU a better, more fun place.
