Hollywood director Joe Dante calls SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ the ‘best Bollywood movie’

In his Facebook post, Joe Dante shared stills from the film and wrote a tirade praising the director of SS Rajamouli. Notes read,

“RRR (Rise Roar Revolt) is probably the best Bollywood movie I’ve ever seen. It’s definitely the most expensive. It’s meant to be seen on the big screen and is currently playing at the Alamo Drafthouse Los Angeles in Los Angeles!”

Dante asked people to watch the masterpiece, and he continued that the film is available on Netflix: “It’s really funny – an absurd melodrama and violence, usually a cartoon-era CGI superstar, that often makes people Reminiscent of John Woo (among many other influences), but manages to remain consistently mesmerizing in its action-packed 3-hour(!) run time, complete with expected song interludes and pulsing scores.”

“I bet you’ve never seen anything like it. If there was any more brutal depiction of the horrors of British colonialism, I missed it. Highly recommended for the Queen’s Jubilee!”, he further noted.

It’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time the film has garnered Hollywood accolades, as early filmmaker Scott Derrickson came under fire for action films of the period.A netizen shared Derrickson’s RRR and ask Suicide Squad Director James Gunn also watched it. “@JamesGunn now you gotta watch this movie. RRR It hits the big screen on March 25. Helmed by SS Rajamouli, this big-budget film revolves around the fictional story of two freedom fighters, Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju. Bheem is a member of the Gond community who is trying to rescue his sister from the British, and Ram is a police officer serving the British regiment.
