Hollywood A-Lister Rami Malek Is a Staunch Defender of New York Pizza


Before he gained notoriety starring in the wildly popular US web series Mr Robot and won an Oscar for Best Actor for his role as Freddie Mercury in the biopic Bohemian RhapsodyRami Malek is collecting tips for serving pizza in Los Angeles as she tries to grade her acting audition.

Malek also made a living by making falafel at restaurants in Hollywood, taking advantage of the opportunities his part-time position offered him and stuffing his headshots into the pizzas he delivered, a common practice, Some of those pizzas went to repeat customers including Andy Garcia and George Clooney.

“I’ve worked a lot in the food industry. I think everything that’s going on in the world right now has to do with the pandemic, society and politics, that’s excluding us A lot of people in. Some delicious pizza, Malek couldn’t find the easiest time in his current London location, and it wouldn’t hurt as a cure. Malik, who used to live on the Lower East Side, also couldn’t handle anyone denying New York City’s pizza prowess. “Rosario on Orchard Street is my favorite place. Unfortunately, because of what has happened over the past few years, this has changed ownership. I’m sad,” the 41-year-old said. “Roberta in Brooklyn is not bad either. It’s hard to beat New York pizza. I love the people in Chicago, but it’s not the same thing. I don’t care. People try to imitate it, but you can never get to the original.”

Rumor has it that the Mulberry Street Pizzeria in Los Angeles is trying to replicate New York-style pizza with water flown in from Gotham for the slicer’s dough. Malek has heard the rumbles and tasted Mulberry wares, but he doesn’t think the theory that water makes pies actually holds up. “It can’t be true. I’ve done my homework,” he said.

What Marek didn’t do, despite living across the pond for a short period of time, was switch to gin and tonics. “Well, Mr. Mercury always has vodka and tonics, so I’m always comfortable ordering here,” Malek said. “If someone can get away with it, he can. He doesn’t play by the rules.”
