Two popular celebrity icons will star in the upcoming drama and we are excited!
As of September 14th, SM Entertainment, Xiumin’s management company, announced that the 22-year-old would appear in the new TV drama ‘Sajangdol Mart’. The drama portrays various episodes that occur when former members of an idol group gather to start a mart. Director Lee Yoo Yeon, who previously directed ‘When I Was Filmed by Iljin’, takes over the helm of the film.
Xiumin made his acting debut in the web drama ‘Falling in the Challenge’ in 2015. He then made his screen debut with ‘Bongi Kim Seon Dal’ in 2016. A lot of people are excited to see what Xiumin will look like after he has been away from acting for 7 years and return to the stage on September 26th with his first solo album Brand New.
MONSTA X’s Hyungwon has been cast as the male lead alongside Xiumin. Hyungwon was active within the acting communities with roles in ‘Again, Fly’ and ‘Find Her’ on KBS 2TV, and is now continuing his acting career. This year, Hyungwon has participated in group activities with popularity. Particularly, he made an appearance on the YouTube channel ‘I have nothing to wear,’ which was released on August 12, and gathered lots of topics. Hyungwon’s popularity was on display with the video gaining more than 8.61 million views.
Xiumin is a singer and actor from South Korea who is a member of the popular South Korean-Chinese boy band EXO, the sub-group EXO-M, and the sub-unit EXO-CBX. He is doing his compulsory military service, so he is on active duty. Following his enlistment, he released his debut solo single, ‘You’, which is part of SM Station, which came out on May 9. Before his enlistment, he performed with EXO-CBX’s Magical Circus. As a singer with Shinhwa, Xiumin will star in a new military musical entitled ‘Return: The Promise of That Day’. In addition to SHINee’s Onew and Yoon Ji Sung, also featured are After School’s Raina and gugudan’s Hyeyeon.
