Celebrities like Zendya, Lizzo, Sheryl Lee Ralph and more managed to steal the show with their powerful speeches at the recent Emmy Awards 2022.
Emmy Awards 2022 recently took place. The awards honor primetime television programs. Several big names won trophies at this glamorous event. While big names like Selena Gomez and Michael Keaton were at the gala, the event really showed how women were the real stars. A lot of big categories at the award show, like song of the year, were taken by women. Their speeches even left everyone inspired. Here are some examples.
Emmys 2022: Women win big
Among the award recipients, one name in particular deserves attention. She’s Sheryl Lee Ralph and she won in the category of Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Abbott Elementary. When she finished her speech, everyone in the audience clapped in appreciation. In spite of calling herself an endangered species, she spoke candidly about the challenges of balancing two full-time jobs. Throughout her speech, she urged everyone to always believe in dreams and never give up.
Zendaya won the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series award for her role as Rue in Euphoria. After becoming the first Black woman to win an Emmy twice, the actress received loud cheers. Her acceptance speech spoke about women who shared their stories and expressed gratitude to all who believed in her. All the stories are a part of her and she feels connected to them.
Singer Lizzo took home the award for Outstanding Competition Series for Watch Out For The Big Grrrls. On stage, she broke down as she talked about how she wanted to be in the media since she was a little girl. When she added, “Someone like me, who’s black like me.”, she received a thunderous response. Beautiful like I am. If I could go back and tell little Lizzo something, I would be like, ‘You’re going to see that person, but b***h, it’s going to have to be you.”

From what I read, Quinta Brunson won Best writer for a comedy series for Abbott Elementary. In fact, she looked stunning in a rose gold gown. She first thanked all of her team members and then thanked her family members. There was one noteworthy thing about the way she spoke – she brought up her dogs. The trophies were won by Julia Garner, Amanda Seyfried, Margaret Qualley, and many more. Emmys 2022 were definitely a women’s night. More power to the ladies.
