It’s a training battle.

Celebrity trainer Tracy Anderson, who has sculpted for stars like Gwyneth Paltrow, has filed a lawsuit against her former employee, Megan Roup, The latter runs the popular sculpture society.

In a lawsuit filed Monday in U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, Anderson accused Roup, who worked for her from 2011 to 2017, of copyright infringement.

The lawsuit alleges that Roup — whose fans include Sofia Richie, Martha Hunt and model Shanina Shaik — “has obtained all the materials needed to replicate TA’s approach and related business, and she wasted no time in doing so.”

Roup started her successful fitness career a month after leaving Anderson, the documents show.

The lawsuit also alleges that Roup has “used to the detriment of Anderson” and the years of research, money and sweat equity that Anderson and the plaintiffs invested in developing the TA Method and its related businesses.

Anderson claimed that Roup’s “substantial” videos (available on the Sculpt Society website) were “created using confidential information that Roup learned, accessed or had access to while on the job,” Anderson said. They also claim she used Anderson’s “confidential information” to “discover and facilitate the continued operation and growth of the company.” [Roups] own business. ”

The lawsuit alleges that Roup signed a “trainer agreement” when she first started working at the company that prohibited her from using any “confidential information.”

The lawsuit also challenges Roup’s alleged failure to explicitly state that she worked for Anderson.

“Defendants’ false and/or misleading public statements and advertisements created a false impression that Roup alone created the [Tracey Anderson Method] and carried out the research and development that led to it,” the complaint said.
