Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s film Brahmastra will release on the 9th of September.

This film, which is the subject of much anticipation, is gearing up for release in the coming days. It has been in production for almost a decade, from brainstorming to shooting. In 2012, while shooting his blockbuster Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Ayan Mukerji had the idea for this film and that’s when the journey of the film began. Considering the advance bookings of the film have begun, the tickets are selling out as if they were delicious homemade cakes. With two days left in advance booking, it is so far, recording this year’s highest advance ticket sales for a Hindi film, even outselling films like Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and already gearing up to surpass films like Satya on record. Before the nitty-gritty, it is important to mention that Brahmastra is the most expensive Hindi-language film to date with the budget reported to be over Rs. 300 cr.

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s film Brahmastra has made headlines, bringing in a healthy box office income. Already exceeding advance bookings for other Hindi films (at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic), the new Hindi film has shattered the highest advance bookings of 83 to secure an open victory. As of September 7, 12 midnight, 1.31 lakh tickets have been sold on opening day in the three national chains, and 2.50 lakh tickets have been sold for the opening weekend. It will have to compete with a plethora of films including Tiger Zinda Hai, Sanju, Sultan, Dangal, Bharat, Thugs Of Hindostan, War, and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. Since these films have been shown during major holidays, The Film may fall short, primarily because it’s not an aforementioned holiday.

Mashable India

The cost comparison of Hindi originals at 3 major retail chains is as follows
Brahmastra: 1.31 Lakh (2 days to go)

War: 4.05 L
Prem Ratan Dhan Payo 3.40 L
Thugs Of Hindostan: 3.30 L
Bharat: 3.16 L
Sultan: 3.10 L
Dangal: 3.05 L
Sanju: 2.94 L
Tiger Zinda Hai: 2.76 L
Mission Mangal: 2.71 L

It needs to sell more tickets than Mission Mangal to make it to the top 10 highest-grossing Indian films of all time. After witnessing the ticket sale rate of Brahmastra, we estimate total advance ticket sales to be around 2.80 Lakh to 3.20 Lakh tickets. Brahmastra will aim for a spot in the Top 5, although entering the Top 10 charts is also a significant feat, given that Bollywood has been experiencing a lean period where its films haven’t been able to achieve good numbers.

The release of Brahmastra Part 1: Shiva will take place on 9th September worldwide, although there will be previews on Thursday night in select centres in and outside India. A talented filmmaker directed this amazing film starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Mouni Roy and a cameo appearance by Shah Rukh Khan. Yesterday, the filmmakers of Brahmastra met in the suburbs of Mumbai to watch the final draft of the film.
